A winery with history and a new signature.
What began as a small part-time enterprise was developed by Dr Klaus-Peter Heigel, with persistence and an instinct for quality, into an independent Franconian winery. Since 2018, this story has continued under new management—with respect for what has grown and a clear view of the future.
In the vineyard, we focus on low yields, healthy grapes and year-round ground cover. Selective harvesting, gentle processing and patience in the cellar produce wines that do not feel manufactured, but tell the story of their vintage and origin.
Across around 10 hectares, we grow Silvaner, Riesling, Rieslaner, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Merlot, among other varieties.
Zeiler Mönchshang
Our monopole vineyard in Franconia.
At the eastern edge of Franconia, the Zeiler Mönchshang rises directly behind the town. As a monopole vineyard, it is cultivated solely by our winery. This gives us the rare opportunity to follow its development across every parcel and give it a distinctive signature.
Silvaner, Riesling, Rieslaner, Müller-Thurgau and Kerner each find their own expression here. The wines combine freshness with spice and quiet depth—qualities that make the Mönchshang far more than a name on the label for us.

Our range
From young Silvaner to mature vintages.
Our range connects the Zeiler Mönchshang with other Franconian vineyards, including the Mainstockheimer Hofstück. Sandstone keuper and shell limestone, different grape varieties and each new vintage set the pace. Stainless steel preserves freshness and precision; selected lots gain depth on the fine lees or in oak. The range extends from classic Franconian wines and Orange Silvaner to rosé, sparkling wine, Secco and distinctive reds.

From the first pruning cut to the finished bottle, communication at our winery is direct. Observations from the vineyard flow straight into the work in the cellar, while experience from tastings and sales shapes the next vintage. Quality is not a solo project here, but a shared and continuous endeavour.
We see recommendations from Falstaff, Vinum, Gault&Millau and Der Feinschmecker, among others, as recognition—and as motivation for the next vintage.
